PTSD – The Trauma Tree

I thought this was an excellent infographic explaining all forms of PTSD and displaying the horrific impact it has on a person in the future.

Trauma Tree - this is a good graphic of how symptoms can grow from trauma and ignoring the issues. With good therapy, coping skills and support these symptoms can be more controllable:

I’ve never had EMDR, but a close friend of mine went through a number of sessions and found it very helpful. I’ve always preferred one-on-one psychotherapy. Thanks for commenting. 🙂

A great info graphic indeed. So how do we prune this tree and start growing good fruit? 😉 I’ve found meditation to be the most helpful tool over the long term. It’s something I can control and always have with me. Do you have any reliable favorites?

Meditation is an excellent way I am told, however, I’ve tried it several times and it doesn’t work for me. My favorites actually are writing (typing a story in which I edit later) with my eyes closed! Sounds bizarre, or I have a mini recorder and sometimes I’ll lay on the chesterfield and recall what I would say in therapy. Thanks for asking.
