Chronic Pain? Explaining the Spoon Theory

I had never heard of “spoons” and the connection with chronic pain and frankly a bit confused.  Noticing how many fibromyalgia sufferers use the term “spoonies“, I realized how it represented the reduced amount of energy for each daily task resulting from chronic pain due to an invisible illness.

    Interesting theory. One that’s well explained through this image. I know someone who sometimes wakes up with barely any spoons for the day, and how she hopes if she lays low for a day she’ll ave more spoons for the day after. Unfortunately, that’s not how it works, is it?
