I was a guest on a Radio Talk Show!

Yesterday, on “Hot off the Press” @Wordpress.com, they posted an article: “WordPressers Making a Splash

We read hundreds of blogs and websites every day, from up-and-coming voices and established pros alike. We love visiting those sites on WordPress.com, but it’s just as rewarding to see other platforms embrace the work of writers, journalists, and artists who regularly publish here, introducing it to new audiences.

I responded with a comment stating that this blog caught the eye of a psychiatrist who hosted a radio broadcast show relating to mental illness.  I was stunned when asked if I would appear as a guest, stating it was an hour talk show via podcast from Portland, Oregon.  I’d never been on radio or TV before, and honestly, I was ‘shitting bricks’ before the show.  Although nervous at first, the soothing voice of Dr. Anne (host) calmed me, the time went relatively quickly, and it was a victory for me!

I have just listened to your radio interview. It was very interesting. Congratulations! 🙂 You can be very proud of your blog, of what you have gone through and what you have done. You have changed an horrible trauma into very positive experiences. That is what we call in French “resilience”. Sorry for my English. Not very easy for me… Helen

Wow, thanks for listening, sometimes I forget about that interview since it was back a few years when still new to this blog. (You have excellent English, as for me, I only know a handful of French words and that is Canadian French (Quebec), as our first language is English.) I was still enraged at the time recalling the number of ECT treatments I endured, which did zilch to help with depression, and angry that the psychiatrist who gave me those ECTs wasn’t very encouraging about my future. Also, the radio show psychiatrist allowed me to vent the PTSD and toxic parenting issue.
Thanks so much for commenting. 🙂
